Foot pain afflicts millions of people every year and can cause discomfort or debilitating pain. This This article was written by someone not skilled or trained in medicine, science or rehabilitation, however after hard work and patience solved the Plantar Fasciitis problem. This article is about curing Plantar Fasciitis rather than preventing it.

Plantar Fasciitis is debilitating and depending on its severity, can prevent you from walking, running and a host of other activities. It is very common for athletes over 30.

This article is based on my experiences, my personal knowledge and based on a successful battle with Plantar Fasciitis for three years. During the time I had Plantar Fasciitis, I had numerous medical tests, medications, tried steroid injections, acupuncture, stretches and nothing worked. I considered injections of collagen and surgery. The solution is easy but difficult to implement, just lose weight!. Before you undertake any action from this article please consult with your doctor.

Before you begin your program, its very important to see your doctor to discuss your particular problem and discuss using orthotics. Custom made orthotics are more expensive and well worth the additional expense. The orthotic is a plastic device which is inserted into a shoe to provide stabilization to the ankle and foot. Immediately, the orthotics gave me the ability to comfortably walk again, for short distances. For approximately three years, I was able to walk (with the help of the orthotics) short distances however, I was not able to play tennis or job. After much work and unsuccessful attempts with other remedies, I finally decided to listen to my doctor and lose 35 pounds(from 215 to 180).

Currently, I am now able to jog and play tennis, with some limitations. After a 30 minutes gym workout, I also run 4-5 times a week for 1 to 1/2 miles each time. I use othodics, and wear only Newbalance sneakers, Rockport shoes and clogs. I stopped wearing fancy shoes lacking foot support. At the end of the day, if you really want to rid yourself of Plantar Fasciitis, then lose weight.

If you can lose the weight, you will feel, look and sleep better and most importantly feel younger. This solution worked for me and may not work for you. Before embarking on any weight reduction program, try some of the other above mentioned recommendations and consult with your doctor.
